How can I get a warp?

A warp is a special command reserved for facilities! If you’d like a warp then please ask a member of staff to set one up for you! If you are just trying to remember where your home is then use the /sethome command.

What is a facility?

A facility is an area of business known to the server. There are different facilities each with their own requirements, for specifics head over to the Canterlands website to review what you need for a facility you’d like to open! Different facilities can be owned by the same player but they should be at least 12 chunks away from each other. Facilities are required to pass an inspection and have a brand before they are considered a facility.

What is a business?

A business is anything that isn’t a facility that can be used to make money. Businesses can request warps where non-registered businesses can’t/won’t have a warp. You may choose a preset business type or create your own. Businesses are required to have an inspection and must follow all welfare guidelines where applicable and must be genuine.

How do I join?

To join the server, head over to the whitelist section of the Discord and then to the server information section under the ‘how-to-join’ subsection. Bear in mind that as a whitelisting server, it can take a little time for you to be added and able to use the server! In the meantime, go ahead and download our latest modpack in the ‘server-info’ section and import it into a CurseForge profile. Once your whitelist application has been deleted, you have been whitelisted and can join the game.

How do I get a starter horse?

You’ll be able to get a starter horse once you have an adequate area set up on your property that meets our welfare guidelines, along with the money for the horse (this depends on breed/gender/size). Once you have enough saved up, ask a mod or admin when they’re next online to adopt your first horse! If you want to browse the starter horses, head to /spawn and head west to the starter barn. Complete Anita's quest in order to get your first set of tack and a burlap.

How do I earn money?

Growing crops and mining are both good ways to earn money. Planting wheat, carrots, beetroot, and other vanilla crops is a good way to earn money when you’re first starting out—just remember to save the seeds! Another good way to earn money is to sell your mined goods at the ‘ores’ shop. If you're looking for a more involving route, you might want to consider starting a facility or renting out one of our pre-made player stores in our town area.

How many animals can I have?

You are allowed a maximum of 16 per species of animal (e.g., 16 dogs, 16 cats, 16 sheep, etc.). You are allowed a maximum of 14 horses by default, which can be increased by supporting our Patreon! You can also get an increased animal or horse cap by owning specific facility types; however, the additional animal caps are only to be used for facility purposes.

My game isn't loading / it won't let me connect

There may be many reasons as to why your game isn't loading or you can't connect to our server; however, it's important you take actions yourself to rule things out before reporting an issue.

Some of these are:

  • Ensuring you have ~5-6GB of RAM allocated to CurseForge.
  • Ensuring you have the correct modpack version and Forge version.
  • Downloading the correct version of the modpack 'as is' and not updating mods unless told to do so.
  • Waiting to be whitelisted. You'll know your application has been processed once it's been deleted from the whitelist channel.
  • Checking your internet connection.

If you have exhausted the above list, please post your issue in one of our tech channels along with relative information such as crash logs and exit codes.
