Rescue Rules & Information
Welcome to the Canterlands Rescue. We're so glad you're thinking about adopting one (or more!) of the animals in our care! Before proceeding, ensure that you have read all animal/horse welfare requirements and the below rules.
Rescue horses will not be rehoused to breeding facilities; a facility owner may apply for the horse, however, applications where the provided coordinates lead to a breeding facility will not be counted. They may not be used to breed for any form of profit - you may within reason breed your own foal(s) providing they are likely to be kept.
When an application is put in to adopt an animal, a member of staff will check your property to make sure it's cooperating with the welfare guidelines.
If a property is flagged for not following our welfare rules, you'll receive a direct message detailing the issues. An animal will not be adopted out to a property that contains welfare issues.
An animal may have a smaller chance of being adopted out to properties that have had multiple or severe welfare warnings in the past.
Common reasons for not being chosen to adopt an animal are (but are not limited to):
- Incorrect welfare issues (includes all animals on the property),
- Not putting effort into your rescue application,
- Multiple players applying for the same animal,
All players are assessed on the above. If an area has been deemed to provide a better environment for the animal (larger space, enrichment, etc.), then it is more likely to be considered, also taking into account the player's application.
Candidates that have written multiple sentences and have areas with enrichment will be more likely to be chosen over someone who doesn't write a lot/has the bare minimum in place. Grammar is also preferred to know you've taken time writing your application.
Even if you are the only applicant for the animal, you are not guaranteed to be selected for adoption.
You may not apply for a horse on behalf of another player; the potential owner of the animal needs to apply for and collect the animal if successful with their adoption application.
If an animal is not picked up during the collection period then it will be put back up for adoption.
Important: Rescue horses or animals cannot be sold for at least two weeks - this is done from the date of the mail in unknown.

Schedule
At the rescue we run on a bi-weekly schedule in order to allow players to write detailed applications and set up adequate areas for their animals.
Monday - Sunday
Applications can be submitted for horses/animals, any forms that have been submitted after this time will not be counted.
Monday - Tuesday
Your property will be checked, ensuring it meets all adequate welfare requirements for the species of animal that you plan on adopting. During this time your application will also be read to determine if you're a suitable fit for your animal.
Wednesday - Friday
Applications are finalized and adopters are selected. Animals will be available for pickup via the burlaps outside of their stall, you should withdraw the correct amount of thyms using a wallet and place the money in the barrel outside of the animal's pen.
Saturday - Sunday
The rescue will undergo restocking, new animals will be selected for players to adopt when rescue next opens.
Monday
Another two week cycle has begun, rescue is opened again.
Please note that our rescue managers will send out announcements in the respective rescue channel as to when applications are officially open/closed. Please do not apply for animals until it has specifically been stated. If you have any questions or concerns please contact our rescue managers Briar/BriarWell or Rosie/KingNootNoot814 via Discord. Please ask before sending a direct message.
