WHAT IS A CUSTOM ANIMAL BREED?

A custom animal breed is a server-recognized Genetic Animal breed produced from a certified Livestock Ranch. These animals are selectively bred to meet a specific, consistent standard and are sold by the respective owner(s).

Custom breeds may have a defined purpose (for example: dairy, wool, meat) or may be intended purely for companionship and/or aesthetics. All custom breeds must:

  • Be registered through a certified Livestock Ranch
  • Be unique and specific in design
  • Not overlap significantly with wild stock or other players’ animals
  • Not be replications of real-life breeds

HOW SPECIFIC DO THEY NEED TO BE?

Custom breeds should be animals that players would not typically find in the wild. Applicants are required to define most aspects of the breed’s standard, including (where applicable):

  • Height / Size
  • Horns
  • Accepted Colors (Genetics)
  • Accepted Patterns (Genetics)
  • Drop Yield
  • Purpose

Your breed should be difficult to replicate and should require a considerable amount of effort to achieve its exact standard.

Applications may be declined if the breed is:

  • Not specific enough (for example: large variation in size, color, etc.)
  • Too close to another player’s registered custom breed
  • Lacking in effort, clarity, or overall uniqueness

HOW DO I REGISTER ONE?

To register a custom breed, players must own a certified Livestock Ranch.

Once your stock meets a unique and specific standard, you may apply using the provided breed registration formats in this forum.

Registration requirements:

  • Submit five (5) males and five (5) females for staff inspection
  • Submission is done in-game
  • Temporary storage limit bypasses will be allowed during inspection
  • Place all submitted animals into a chest and include the coordinates in your forum post

Staff may not be able to inspect animals immediately, but inspections are typically completed within one week.

When submitting:

  • Copy the appropriate format
  • Ensure all sections are fully completed where applicable
  • Title your post:
    Breed Name – Username

WHAT STAFF MAY DO DURING REVIEW

During the review process, staff may:

  • Cross-reference all submitted stock with known genetics
  • Request additional verification if needed
  • Breed the stock to test and confirm yield values

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SUBMISSION?

After review, you will receive an acceptance or denial message.

If accepted:

  • All ten (10) animals will be returned to the owner
  • The facility owner may begin advertising the breed
  • The breed and its official standard will be listed on the website

If denied, feedback may be provided explaining why the application was unsuccessful.

AM I ALLOWED TO MAKE RULES OR REGULATIONS FOR MY BREED?

Yes. Breed owners may provide buyers with rules or regulations that apply when purchasing their animals. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Breeding rights
  • Selling or transfer rights
  • Usage restrictions

Important requirements:

  • A contract must be signed in-game by the buyer at the time of purchase
  • The contract must clearly document all applicable rules
  • The contract should be stored in a safe location
  • It is strongly recommended that the buyer is given a copy

Buyers must be fully aware of all rules before purchase. Facility owners may not impose additional rules after the sale of an animal.
