Welfare (IMPORTANT! READ ALL SECTIONS)

What are animal welfare standards and why do we use them?

All players must abide by our animal welfare standards in order to promote a realistic in-game farming experience for everyone. Enclosures should be double-checked BEFORE animals are housed inside of them to ensure they are safe, secure, and meet all of the animal's needs. Our animal caps include all animals owned by a player (regardless of whether they are spread out over multiple properties or housed / used at facilities). Players may breed above the 16 limit as long as the animals are culled or stored back to appropriate levels before the player logs off (within reason, a staff member may ask you to reduce your animal population if you are significantly over the cap; please use it wisely and only have out what you need). By default, a player may have 16 of each animal/mob species out, and 20 of each animal/mob species in storage via mob balls (with the exception of horses; a default cap of 18 that can't be stored in mob balls).

Animals should ALWAYS be housed in the correct requirements, whether for breeding, selling, culling, etc. Baby animals will also need the same requirements present in accommodation to meet their needs, if you are breeding you need to ensure the location is suitable for all potential offspring as well. Animals in “temporary” accommodation must also be in welfare at all times.

What is water?
Water is classed as any natural water source or decorative water (eg. bowl, trough) providing it's clear. Please do NOT use the “Water Bowl” from the Fancy Ferrets mod, if you are using a bowl, use the “Pet water bowl” from the MOA DECOR: GARDEN mod.

What is shelter?
Shelter is classed as any block an animal can fit under that protects them from the elements (eg. rain). We recommend players have dedicated shelters for their animals that are easily visible. If a post is connected to a block in order to hold the shelter up (cosmetically, within reason), the block is also counted towards their overall provided shelter.

What is grazing?
Grazing is an accessible patch of vanilla grass blocks, the area should be realistic to the quantity of animals housed in the area.

What are food bowls/water bowls?
Please use the “Pet food bowl” and “Pet water bowl” exclusively if you are using bowls. Do NOT use the Water Bowl, Seed Bowl, or Food Bowl from the Fancy Ferrets or Hamtastic Hamsters mod - they are known to sometimes disappear! Use bowls from the MOA DECOR: GARDEN mod instead (Pet food bowl, Pet water bowl).

How do I get more slots?
Players may opt for a livestock license and ranch if they are wanting to house more animals on their facility property permanently. Additional horse slots can be gained via supporting us through ranks!

If I have an increased animal cap, can I use them in one area?
Yes, you're free to use your extra animals on the same plot as your other animals. For example, if you have a bonus +2 horse slots, you may have a total of 20 horses on your property. Please bear in mind this is specifically for your animals/horses and may be different if you own a facility.

Sharing Accomodation
Unlimited players may share an area together, however the cap for the property does not increase with each additional player - it must remain at one player's cap (default 16 for animals). Please note that you may only house a maximum of 16 (by default) animals of each type per 12 chunk radius. This means a maximum of 16 pigs, 16 cows, etc within a 12 chunk radius from their location. Additional animals may be housed at least 12 chunks away. Combined storage is allowed if chests are clearly labeled with usernames to avoid staff flagging for over-storage.

What if I don't meet the requirements?

By not meeting our animal welfare requirements or caps, you are going against an important rule we have established on the server to provide people with realistic and lag-free gameplay. If animals are not in correct welfare on a property, they are subject to immediate confiscation by a member of staff or rescue manager without warning. All confiscated animals will be placed on hold at the rescue for 5 days, during which the owner may retrieve them by paying a fine of $400 per animal. Players will be notified in the mailbox channel and given a timeframe to pay the fine to reclaim their animals. The 5-day period begins once the mail is sent and will automatically adjust to your timezone. Players must pay for and take the entire backpacks worth of animals upon collection. Payment has to be received within 5 days of the mailbox ping. Players must submit this into the chest at /warp safehoof cay (first building on the right, in a labelled chest with your username / amount owed). You can do this automatically as soon as you see the mailbox notification, however they must be collected, paid for and the backpack containing the mob balls must also be returned into the chest once you are finished. You may ask a friend or alternative player to pick up or pay for your animals on your behalf, however this is your responsibility. We do not offer extensions to this.

SWEM horses found in incorrect welfare are subject to the above as well.

If a property is found to be over the animal cap while the owner of the property is offline (regardless of welfare), animals will immediately be removed until the player has hit their cap.

Please Note:

- Staff may check pens for $300 to get confirmation before animals are housed in them, however not finding an available member of staff is not an excuse to house your animal in incorrect welfare. Other tools are available (eg. abacus - craftable in game) in order to help players count blocks.

- We are not responsible for who you trust to your area, ensure you are only trusting players who you know will follow the correct rules.

 - You acknowledge repeated cases of welfare issues (especially within a short duration of time) are likely to result in consequences like rescue bans subject to staff discretion.
