SWEM means Star Worm Equestrian Mod. Canterlands uses SWEM as a core part of its equestrian multiplayer experience, alongside Genetic Animals and custom server systems.
What Canterlands adds
Canterlands tracks horse breeds, ages, awards, and lineage through its custom registry. Its genetics system includes inherited traits and dynamic coat overlays. These are Canterlands features; do not assume every SWEM installation or server uses the same mechanics.
Supported setup
Use Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1 with Forge through the official modpack. The Canterlands genetics client is server dependent and will not function by itself.
